About the artist
Welcome to Watercolours by Dave Davies
| Dave was born and educated in Devon, England, and moved to Canada with his wife, Ann, in 1973. After teaching for 37 years in England, Prince Rupert and the West Kootenays, they retired to Oceanside in 2004. For years Dave's artistic outlet was through calligraphy. He has always enjoyed the appeal of watercolour, so took an introductory course just before his fiftieth birthday. Further workshops with Les Weisbrich, Rick McDiarmid, Tom Huntley, Carol-Lynn Davidson, Alex Fong, Sherry Mitchell, Kiff Holland, Suzanne Northcott, Jean Pederson and Jack Reid among others have influenced his painting. Dave was a founding member of the West Kootenay Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists and is currently a member of the Arrowsmith Chapter as well as the De Cosmos Fine Arts Society. |
